Eastcote Studios Blog Vol. I
May 3, 2017
Welcome to the first edition of the Eastcote Studios blog. This blog has been created as part of the revamp of the studio website, and will enable us to keep everyone up to date with everything going on down at the studio.
It's been a very busy few months for us here at Eastcote, with a constant stream of projects of all shapes and sizes coming through the door. As this is the first blog, we'll look at the highlights from the past few months.
Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts used our Studio 1 to record piano and vocals for her debut solo album. She was joined on these sessions by French-Electro Producer Dimitri and a rather large film crew, a snippet of what they made can be seen below:
Singer Patricia Hammond (http://patriciahammond.com) used Studio 1 to track and mix her album of vintage pop songs "Our Lovely Day", all tracked live using enough retro gear to give the songs an authentic sound.
Saxophonist Matt Wates visited our Studio 1 with his sextet (http://www.mattwates.com/matt_wates_sextet.html) to record his charity album "Talia's Song", with all the proceeds going to the UCL Cancer Institute Research Trust.
More recently DJ/Super-Producer Mark Ronson booked a lengthy stay with us and brought with him The Gossip to record their forth-coming album, as well as singer/song-writer (and former Pipette) Rose Dougall, to record tracks for her latest record.
Following with enormous success of their first album, folk-rock legends Mumford and Sons chose to return to Eastcote Studios to record album number two, working again with prolific producer Marcus Dravs. Below is singer Marcus Mumford with our RCA ribbon microphone.
